Game of Thrones is back after leaving us wanting for a week over the Memorial Day holiday, how dare they. We open in the cold North and in a bawdy bar. It is when that the wildlings come into town and slaughter everyone, though Ygritte shows a mercy by not killing Sam’s lady and her baby.
Meanwhile in a land much warmer Greyworm gets caught looking with interest at Dani’s Lady, which leads to an interesting set of conversations. Dani and Missandei speak about what it might have been like when the Unsullied were cut, if the cutter took the pillar on the stones (exact words people). After that grey worm comes to apologize to Missandei for spying on her and seeing her naked, she tells him in the end after a sweet conversation that she was glad he did.
Lord Bolton is using Theon to get what he wants, sending him out and claiming a peace treaty through him. We of course know what kind of things that Lord Bolton does, but Theon speaks convincing we can almost see him coming back but he truly is a beaten and whipped dog, which is pointed out to him. Lucky for him the big man’s men don’t agree and kill him on the spot and take the offered treaty from Theon. Lord Bolton of course does not let the men go, and kills them in a savage way.
Meanwhile Little finger is having some trouble over killing his wife; he is of course claiming suicide. Sansa is called before a counsel of people to speak and tell her story under the fake name of Elena. Sansa however speaks the truth and states who she truly is to them, thus she is setting to them she is trust worthy. From there she proceeds to tell almost the whole truth, it is only when she gets to the end in how her Aunt dies that she lies, confirming what Little finger said in claiming suicide.
Meanwhile Dani finds out that Jorah was given a pardon and has indeed been spying on her for many years. He loves her and professes and tries to explain, but she doesn’t care he betrayed her. So she tells him to leave and that if he is not gone from her city by dawn that his head will be tossed into slavers bay we can assume separated from his body.
When the Hound finally gets to where he is going to he can get ransom for Arya, he is informed that Arya’s Aunt died three days ago. Arya ends up bending over in a fit of giggles over it. You can’t really blame her for that he has spent so much time trying to get her there.
We finally start to get to the part we have all been waiting for, Tyrion and the trial by combat. Jamie and he share an interesting story while in the prison, showing again that they are bonded Brothers and you feel for him in the situation. When finally the bells ring and the battle is set to start. One thing we can say about the Prince he is spry! He has a lot more skill then one would have thought initially when looking at him and seeing him thus far, he is a fair champion for Tyrion the man can handle a spear. Much to the chagrin of the rest of the Lannisters (save Jamie) it appears the Prince will win, until he gets cocky and has his head crushed in the style of Kahn killing Admiral Pike on Star Trek Into Darkness and Tyrion gets sentenced to death.
