Game of Thrones 36 The Laws of Gods and Men

Another week and it is time to check in with Game of Thrones and see what those in the Seven Kingdoms are up to. A meeting for Stannis on help for the war that he wants in his war to get the Iron Throne. Meanwhile Theons sister finally makes her way to where Theon is to free him. She finds him in the kennels afraid and scared and he refuses to go, so they force him from the kennel. Unfortunately after going all that way she doesn’t get him back and declares as they leave that her Brother is dead.

Meanwhile the Dragons have gotten rather huge and help themselves to a framers goats frying and then taking them off to eat. While the farmer whos stock was attacked very humbly comes before Dani and relates his trouble, she says she will pay him three times the value of his flock. While a man comes before Dani and speaks to her about tradition and wanting funeral rites for the people, including his Father who was crucified by Dani. He speaks from the heart to the Queen and Dani in the end grants his request, while she is then informed there was 212 people waiting to meet with her.

Finally the moment we have waited for comes, Tyrion is taken from his cell by Jamie and it is time for him to stand trial. King Tommen recues himself from the trial, having his Grandfather stand as the main Judge, no doubt something that was planned all along. Tyrion of course states he is not guilty and even cracks a joke about the pie. The trial goes on with the witnesses coming forward and laying things on Tyrion that may or may not be taken out of context. In the end Jamie speaks to his Father for his Brother, reminding him that he also killed his King and the last order he got from that King was to bring his own Fathers head to him, but he didn’t. In the end he uses his Fathers wish to have a Son and Heir, this gets a guarantee from his Father that Tyrion will be given the chance to join the Nights watch instead of die. Jamie will then leave the Kings guard and take his place as Son and heir. The heart breaking part of the trial comes when Shay comes into the room, she gives testimony that says He and Sansa planned the whole thing, she confirms everything that Cersei has stated.

Seeing Shay and have her state that she is a whore breaks him, forcing him into a confession. Not the confession that had wanted, he says he is guilty of being a dwarf, that he is innocent of killing the King but that he has been on trial his entire life for being a dwarf. He exclaims, I did not kill him but I wish that I had. He then demands a Trial by Combat. Making for an ending that will keep everyone holding their breath for next week.
