Game of Thrones 30 Mhysa

Well after The Red Wedding last week there is only so many places Game of Thrones can go right? Welcome to the Season 3 Season finale folks. The only way to open of course is by showing a lot of burning, and the sad scene of what they did to Robb’s body, taking his head and replacing it with his dire wolf’s. Arya see’s this.

Sansa and her new husband seem to be getting along well enough as they walk along the nice gardens. Tyrion is talking about some names and Sansa asks him about it, he announces he has a list. Good thing that Ayra is not the only one with a list. He is then called to the small council where of course the little douche is crowing about the death of Robb and how he wishes to serve his head on a plate to Sansa. Maybe it is me, but I would be careful about being excited about wedding feasts. Tyrion says some lovely threats that we all wish we could say to “The King” and then the boy makes the bad mistake of crossing his Grandfather. Bad move kid bad move. Some more words traded with Tyrion and his Dad, I really do think the only Lannister worth keeping is Tyrion and maybe just maybe if Jamie redeems himself a bit more we can keep him too.

Bran ominously tells a story about what happens to those who kill a man who is a guest under his roof, before the scene cuts over to the Freys. One really does hope that karma bites the betrayers in the rear for that Red Wedding. Theon has lost a body part, not that I can muster to much sympathy for him, does that make me a bad person? I am very proud of Theon’s Sister however for standing against what her Father wished and making her own choice to go and rescue her poor Brother.

Arya and the hound are traveling along and come upon some folks talking about the Red wedding, and about sewing the wolf head onto Robbs body. In the end she stabs him to death and takes her first life. The hound does not seem to overly angry about it, just tells her next time she plans on doing something like that to tell him first.

Jon Snow seems to be having a bad day like the rest of his Stark Siblings when Ygritte catches up with him. Giving him the usual “You know nothing Jon Snow” after a nice speech by him, she then pumps him full of three arrows as he flees from her. On the bright side he makes it home and to his best buddy Sam. I seem to recall another well known traveler who had a best friend named Sam. That is a different genre though.

Dani makes another wonderful speech to a group of slaves who reply in kind by calling her Mother. You have to admire Dani for in one moment being able to make a ruthless choice in having a great deal of people killed, and yet being someone who cares for those who have been enslaved. She walks among the newly freed slaves and they lift her up. Out of all of those squabbling for the Iron Throne in this war or that, it is she who truly deserves it.

Overall the season finale was a good episode, ending an overall good season. The only complaint I can think of to issue, is do we really have to deal with another season of Joffrey and his antics? Too bad he wasn’t a guest at the red wedding. Until next season folks!
