Face Off Season 6 Episode 4

Face Off is back on and this week we start off with a really cool foundation challenge. The artists are given the choice in a Motorcycle and they must create a makeup based on the design of the bike. We have some very cool make ups come out of this from a conductor to hell to a beautiful “bad ass” queen who has some purples that would make a fantastic day time gothic look. The winner of the challenge and who was given immunity for the week was Darren.

For the spotlight challenge they are back into teams and will be making characters based on a guitar they have been given. The guitars they have been given are all electric and pretty amazing designs, nothing is what could be called a standard guitar. While everything seems to start off smoothly Tess starts to have a panic attack almost as soon as things get started, and things in the lab seem to go a little bit downhill from there.

The dreaded mold locking happens for Niko and Cat and the massive mold they made, luckily they are able to pry the front out with only a little bit of trouble. Everyone seems to be moving along well again by the time that application day comes along; Tess is a little worried they may have gone to simple but everyone else seems happy with the makeup they are creating. As always there is some scrambling during last looks with paint jobs needing more details and some details needing to be added to make ups including Tess having trouble getting the creatures horns to stay on.

Thanks to the rock star theme many of the creatures are dark schemed and very appealing on a level of something I would like to bring into a street level. As always however some are better than others, personal favorites for the night that hit all the right chords for me have to be Chloe and Tanner and George and Darren but what did the Judges think? Well the bottom looks were Tess and Matt due to the horns and the inability for their design to make it through a day and Tanner and Chloe because of the make up being too busy.. While Darren and George hit the right notes with a non literal character and Rashaad and Tyler made the right hits with how they made the insides work on their makeup. The winner of the challenge was Darren and sadly Tess was sent home this week.
