True Blood 6.2 The Sun

Cue up the Bad Thing’s theme song it is time to jump back into the supernatural realm. We find Warlow pushing through some supernatural rift like he is being birthed into the world, and he come complete with goo and fangs out right away.

Jason is having the same day we left him with about to be in a car accident, but the hitcher himself stops the car from going off the road and declares after some banter that he is in fact Jason’s Grandfather. So we have had Fairy Godmother and now Fairy Grandfather. There is some more talk about a portal, Jason being Jason and in the end Sookie, Grandfather and Jason have a nice dinner and Sookie learns how to make an epic light ball.

Cut to Tara screaming about Jesus burning as it turns out it really is Tara that is burning. After a little trial and error Eric manages to get it out only to find out that is a silver bullet that is giving off UV light, basically it will cook any vampire shot with it. So now the humans are fighting back and do not have to get a heart shot. After some argument about who fears and who does not fear the humans, Eric proclaiming he does not, he also proclaims that if the Humans want a war they will get war. Safe to assume from that and his yelling at Nora, The Viking is back.

Arlene is fast becoming a favorite for this writer this season, she lets into Sookie about how she should be at work and calls her Missy hangover. When the wife of Terry’s dead friend shows up she makes sure to tell her that he ran off with another woman. It is a lot kinder I think then letting her know he basically got eaten by an ancient fire monster.

Sookie is walking to work, I forget if something happened to her car or if she is just in the mood to walk and of course what does she find? A boy in pain and moaning about it. She finds out he is a half fae so brings him home and gets him patched up best she can. This girl girl just can not say no can she? Once he is patched up she goes to take him to the safe fairy land, he reads her mind about Bill which scares her off, but hey we did find out his name was Ben, that’s a normal name right? So is Bill though and we all know what happened to him.

Sam meets a pretty Lady activist trying to get him to come out about it, and all that fun stuff. Of course she even brings up the wonders of the civil rights movement. He shoots her down of course because Sam is going all lone pooch these days, unless he needs La La to watch Emma. Sadly later Sam gets his butt handed to him by Alcide and his pack, I never was a were wolf fan before I am starting to like them less so far this season, anyone else not overly pleased with Alcide about now? The activists were hiding in the bushes and got all this on tape, to be used for? I am sure we will find out later.

Eric meanwhile gives us the end up in stitches laugh of the show. Dork Eric is back you just have to love how he thinks humans should be played. His outfit this time is much more convincing then last time at least…right down to the bean counter tie and glasses this time. Hunched over with that really funny voice he takes on when he is playing human. A great scene and some interesting conversation about baby vampires and whooping cranes. A shocker turns out that the new big bad Governor can not be glamored. Eric gets taken into custody but escapes by flying once they are outside. Gets himself changed into handsome vampire again, and goes a knocking on the Governors Daughters window. We know what is going to happen there.

Ah we forgot to mention Billith and his crazy this time. He spends most of the episode in a coma like state after proclaiming somethings about feeling the pain of other vampires. Jess spends most of the time trying to help him or get him to reply. Even calling the Human edibles service, sadly he sucked all the fun out of being a fang banger by sucking everything out of her after dislocating every bone in her body. Yikes! There is some flashy conversation going back and forth with Lilith that well, really I found a bit boring, just say what you mean already. Jess does have a touching bit of prayer to Billith or God or Lilith one or the other, or maybe all of them. She makes sure to include everyone in her prayers because Jess is sweet like that. When Billith does wake up however we find out something else about his new superpowers, he can see the future and it is not looking good at all for the vampires. Up close and personal look at most of our main characters bursting into flame in a sterile looking holding pen. I am sure I am not the only one hoping THAT does not happen.

All in all some kinks to be worked out, a few plots that are a little why are we going here? But overall the season is still looking up. Always a good thing when Eric is being a Viking about things again and if nothing else it is curious to see what kind of new power that Billith is going to have.
