Take from his professed “comeback” album, Born Villain; “Hey, Cruel World” is the latest single and video offered by Marilyn Manson.
The video was created and produced by director Tim Mattia, who is a known documentary director and currently directs shows for AmpRockTV.
Matching the intensity of the track, the video goes through amazing black and white images culled from live performances done by Manson during his 2012 International Tour.
It took four nights of footage from concerts in Milan, L.A., and Brixton to name a few, in order to build up the video for the track, according to the director.
The cut itself is catchy as it starts off slow before turning into a rock haven. There’s something strangely different about the shock rocker and his music these days. In many ways, it’s no longer about the shock factor but instead more on the intensity and the substance of the sound.
Personally, I love the video and the music. Used to adore Manson way before and then fell out of it, this actually made me realize why I liked him and his music in the first place. Check it out!
