If you have to go to a family event or certain offices, DKNY makes some pretty good compromise dresses. A lot of DKNY seasons feature a lot of black, asymmetric hems, and some skirts with gothic flow to them. Not the right thing for clubbing, but a solid compromise for maintaining your style while still being appropriate for the occasion.
